About Heather
Background
Hello there! I moved to Hermosa Beach in 2009 from Minnesota and fell in love with the beach life and wonderful people in the community. Waking up near the ocean every morning inspires me to make each day count and to find passion in life’s moments.
I was gifted a Nikon camera from my parents and after using it on auto for a bit I decided it was time to figure out how to really put it to good use. While taking a course at a local school, the teacher told me I had a real gift. It was time for me to explore my talent. I decided to further my education and attended the Art Institute. After a year of intense photography courses, I began to pursue my dreams.

Daily Life
In addition to taking photos, I am an instructor at Creative Photo Academy, teaching Intermediate Portraits and Events. On my days off, you can find me riding my bike down the strand, enjoying the ocean, catching a Kings game or drinking wine with friends. I love lavender, cooking Mexican cuisine, and hot orange zest tea. I’m green, not the color… the movement. Although it might be interesting if a green photographer showed up at your session.
I am humbled and grateful to be doing what I love, for wonderful people who value it, and become more than just clients - they become friends.
