Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear for my photos?
I’ve put together a session preparation guide for my clients that I send before every session. This includes information about clothes, makeup, hair and other useful tips to help eliminate stress from your experience. At the end of the day: feel comfortable and be yourself.
Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?
The location of the photo session is up to you, I am currently in the process of deciding on the specific location for my studio. Based on the answers that you provide your client information form, we’ll choose a location together that’s suited to your tastes. I keep a list of varying locations that I’m happy to share with you as we plan your session. Newborn photo sessions are almost always held within the comfort of your own home.
Do you offer digital files?
All of my clients have the option to purchase full-resolution files with a print release, which allows you to reproduce images for personal use as many times as needed.
Can I keep the images from my session private?
All clients sign an optional model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.
Can I bring my mom / friend / husband / other family member along to the session?
YES! I love it when clients bring along a ‘laugh buddy’ and it’s always fun to grab an extra photo of the two of you together.
How long will it take me to receive my images?
I send you a link within two weeks of your session to review your images. I find it best to meet in person and work together to choose the images that will best showcase your family.
Where should I print my photos?
With the purchase of digital files, I recommend an excellent online-based consumer lab that offers professional quality prints. When you receive your images, I include a file with more detailed printing advice. I’ve had test prints made with nearly every consumer lab, so please ask if you have questions about the quality from a specific place. I do not recommend printing your images from Shutterfly, Target, Walmart, CVS, Costco or any of the like. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Heather Leyse Photography accepts all major credit cards, cash or check. Because credit card companies take a percentage of every sale for processing, the best way to support small business is by paying with cash or check.
